Indemini is a remote, typically Ticinese stone village in the municipality of Gambarogno – high above Lake Maggiore, near the Italian border. It lies at around 930–950 m above sea level and has retained its original character as a mountain village: houses clustered closely together, stone roofs, balconies, stairways and winding alleyways.

The location in the Valle Veddasca is particularly impressive; the valley is otherwise largely Italian in character – for a long time, Indemini was a true “village on the edge of Switzerland”. An interesting fact: a drivable road from the Gambarogno side was not built until the early 20th century (1917).

For day-trippers, Indemini is best known as the destination of a scenic hike – for example from Alpe di Neggia over Monte Gambarogno, with magnificent views of Lake Maggiore. Depending on the route, you may pass Alpe Cedullo and the Oratorio di Sant’Anna before the path descends into the village.
