The Lobhorn Trail is a challenging panoramic circuit high above the Lauterbrunnen Valley in the Jungfrau Region. It typically starts at Grütschalp (mountain station) and returns there as a circular route. At around 22 km and approximately 1’436 metres of elevation gain, the route is demanding – but rewards you with magnificent views of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

Along the way, the trail passes through the peaceful Soustal, follows high-altitude paths and leads past the Lobhorn Hut – a perfect place for a break on the terrace with mountain views. If you choose a variant starting from Sulwald, you can conveniently reach the starting point by taking the small cable car from Isenfluh.

The best time is generally from summer to autumn (July–October); wet conditions or snow make the trail considerably more challenging. In winter, the area is also known for snowshoe tours – the Lobhorn Trail is considered the “more strenuous” alternative to the Sulwald Trail.
