Monte Tamaro is a popular excursion mountain in Ticino, combining nature, adventure and culture in one place. The gondola takes you from Rivera to Alpe Foppa, the ideal starting point for hikes and activities.

The 440 m-long zip line provides an adrenaline rush, with speeds of up to 60 km/h. Another highlight is the summer toboggan run: an 800 m track with speeds of up to 50 km/h, also available for two people in a double bobsleigh.

Those who prefer to stay active will find well-marked hiking and biking trails – including a treetop adventure park for an extra dose of action.

Mountain bikers can enjoy around 80 km of trails; there is even a free e-bike charging station at Alpe Foppa.

A cultural must-see is the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, designed by Mario Botta and featuring works by Enzo Cucchi inside.
