Robiei, at the foot of the Basodino Glacier, is a high-altitude alpine region rich in mountain lakes and exceptional fauna and flora. The area is home to numerous animals: ibex, chamois, marmots, hares, stoats (rare), field mice and numerous birds, including the majestic golden eagle.

From Robiei, you can take various walks and hikes to discover the Basodino area, its glacier and the many small lakes in the surrounding area. Particularly interesting are the Basodino Glacier Educational Trail (360 degrees) and the educational trail inside the Robiei dam. In addition, the farmsteads, alpine huts and “Sprügh” (rooms hollowed out beneath large boulders) that still exist at high altitudes are reminders of the vital importance of alpine farming in this region.

At the mountain station of the cable car stands Hotel Robiei, with the charm of a bygone era, comfortable rooms and a restaurant serving local specialities.
