Zoo Zürich is one of the city’s most exciting destinations – ideal for families, animal lovers and anyone who enjoys nature experiences. Covering around 27 hectares, it is home to a great diversity of over 365 animal species.
One highlight is the Masoala Rainforest, a huge rainforest hall where you feel as though you are in Madagascar – it opened in 2003, and since 2013 it has even featured a canopy walkway.
Equally impressive is the Kaeng Krachan Elephant Park, which opened in 2014 and delights visitors with its spectacular roof construction and spacious enclosures.
Practical for planning: The zoo is open 365 days a year (March–October 9 a.m.–6 p.m., November–February 9 a.m.–5 p.m.), while the Masoala Rainforest opens at 10 a.m. each day.
This makes the zoo perfect for a half-day or full-day excursion – whether for a leisurely stroll, a photography tour or a short visit to your favourite animals.
